Sydney Local Health District - Priority Populations Program
Animated Explainer Video
Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is responsible for providing health services to residents and visitors within the center and inner west of Sydney. The district engaged Punchy Studio to create an animated video to address the communication challenge of explaining the Priority Populations Program and its role in improving access to culturally safe and responsive healthcare. The brief was to outline the diverse communities served by the program, including Aboriginal people, LGBTQIA+ communities, sex workers, and those experiencing homelessness or socioeconomic disadvantage. We produced a professional animated explainer video that highlights the program’s key health initiatives, such as HIV and Hepatitis C elimination goals, and the provision of outreach testing clinics. Our approach focused on the collaborative nature of the program, showcasing partnerships with non-government organisations, research institutions, and peer groups to support integrated holistic care. The video is deployed on the SLHD website and through community engagement activities to build health literacy and awareness across various settings, including universities, public housing, and community pharmacies. By combining professional scripting, custom animation, and an informative voiceover, we effectively messaged the district’s commitment to advancing the well-being of its most vulnerable populations. Clear motion graphics reinforce the call to action, inviting viewers to partner with the program or visit the website for more information.
