Sex Worker Discrimination: Jess' Story - VEOHRC
Animated Explainer Video
Produced alongside Vixen Collective and the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (VEOHRC), Jess’ Story is part of a five-part animated series confronting the discrimination sex workers face in Victorian workplaces, services and everyday life. The series was designed to humanise a community that often experiences stigma, and to clearly signpost the protections available under Victorian equal opportunity law. Punchy developed a character animation that follows Jess through a specific experience of discrimination, using a personal voiceover recorded by a sex worker community member to anchor the piece in lived experience. The visual style is warm and considered, deliberately avoiding sensationalism while keeping the story emotionally grounded. The video is used by VEOHRC across its education and advocacy resources, alongside the other stories in the series. Punchy delivered scripting support, illustration, character design, animation, voiceover direction and motion graphics.
