What is a Heritage Listing? - NSW DPE - Heritage
Animated Explainer Video
Heritage NSW, within the NSW Department of Planning and Environment (now part of the Office of Environment and Heritage portfolio), protects places of historic, cultural, and natural significance across the state. The communications team came to Punchy Digital Media with a need for a series of short, informational animations to answer frequently asked questions from the public about how the heritage system works. The agreed scope covered four to five explainers, with “What is a Heritage Listing?” sitting at the foundation, alongside related pieces on the difference between state and local heritage listings and how to nominate a place for listing. Punchy produced a 60–90 second animated explainer outlining what heritage listing means, what it does and doesn’t entail for owners, and how listings are made. The videos were designed for use on the Heritage NSW website and social channels, with social and website cuts produced for each. Services included scripting support, illustration, animation, voiceover, and motion graphics.
