What to expect when in hospital - Dementia Support Australia
Animated Explainer Video
Dementia Support Australia (DSA) is a national service led by HammondCare and funded by the Australian Government to provide 24/7 support for people living with dementia. They approached Punchy with the need to create an accessible guide for carers and family members whose loved ones are currently in a hospital setting. The brief focused on demystifying the hospital experience and explaining how to navigate aged care systems during a stressful period. We produced a clean and empathetic 2D animated explainer video that uses a character driven narrative featuring Jack and his carer, Emily. The approach utilised soft colours and a gentle pace to ensure the information remained digestible and reassuring. By following a specific scenario, the video effectively highlights the importance of the All About Me resource and the role of My Aged Care in planning for post-hospital support. This animation serves as a key educational tool on the DSA website and social media platforms to assist families across Australia. The project involved comprehensive scripting to simplify complex government processes, professional voiceover to set a compassionate tone, and bespoke motion graphics to illustrate the various stages of the aged care assessment journey.
