Mental Health after Stroke - Stroke Foundation
Animated Explainer Video
The Stroke Foundation is a national non-profit organisation dedicated to preventing, treating, and beating stroke in Australia. They partnered with Punchy Studio to create an accessible resource addressing the common but often overlooked issue of mental health challenges following a stroke. The brief was to develop a supportive video that encourages survivors and their families to recognise early warning signs, such as changes in mood or feelings of hopelessness, and to seek professional help. We produced a gentle and empathetic animated explainer video that uses clear visual storytelling to reach those who may be struggling with communication difficulties or aphasia. The approach focused on providing practical advice, such as speaking with a GP to establish a mental health care plan or connecting with others through StrokeLine. By utilising soft character animation and a reassuring voiceover, the video helps to de-stigmatise mental health conversations during the recovery journey. This asset is used as a key educational tool on the Stroke Foundation website and social media platforms to ensure survivors know that help is available. The project involved careful scripting, custom motion graphics, and a compassionate tone to ensure the message was both relatable and actionable for the stroke community.
