Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia (PANDA) is a leading Australian organisation providing specialist support to expecting and new parents navigating the complexities of mental health. The client engaged Punchy Studio to address a significant communication challenge: how to effectively communicate coping strategies to parents during periods of heightened global unrest, natural disasters, and pandemics. The brief required a tool that could acknowledge normal feelings of being overwhelmed while providing clear, actionable pathways to support for both parents and their infants. We produced a gentle animated explainer video that uses soft, hand-drawn character illustrations to create an immediate sense of warmth and relatability. The visual approach focuses on diverse family structures and everyday domestic settings, ensuring the message feels inclusive and grounded. By combining empathetic scripting, custom character animation, and a calming voiceover, we delivered a resource that validates parental stress while offering practical hope. The video is widely deployed across PANDA’s social media platforms and digital support hubs to encourage helpline engagement. Strategic motion graphics highlight the PANDA helpline and website, ensuring that vital contact information remains clear and accessible for those seeking immediate mental health guidance.
