Flood Preparedness - NSW State Emergency Service
Animated Explainer Video
The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is the lead agency for flood, storm, and tsunami emergencies in New South Wales. The SES engaged Punchy Studio to create an educational video to address the critical communication challenge of public safety and disaster readiness. The brief was to provide clear, actionable steps for residents to prepare for, respond to, and stay safe during flood events. We produced an engaging animated explainer video that uses clear visual metaphors and a step by step narrative to guide viewers through risk assessment, emergency planning, and the assembly of an emergency kit. Our approach focused on life saving advice, such as the importance of acting early and the strict warning to never drive, ride, or walk through floodwater. The video is deployed across NSW Government digital channels and emergency management portals to build community resilience. By combining professional scripting, custom animation, and an authoritative voiceover, we delivered a vital public service resource. Detailed motion graphics reinforce the call to action by clearly displaying emergency contact numbers and the translating and interpreting service for multicultural communities.
