Working together to care for Sea Country - NSW DPIE

The NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE, since restructured into NSW DCCEEW) needed to communicate its Land and Sea Country program to coastal and Aboriginal community stakeholders. Delivered through creative agency 33 Creative, the brief called for a piece that honoured Aboriginal perspectives on caring for Country while clearly explaining the program’s purpose and how communities could engage with it. Punchy produced an animated explainer that uses warm, culturally considered visuals and a measured narrative pace to introduce viewers to the Land and Sea Country initiative. The animation style emphasises connection to place, balancing departmental information requirements with the respectful, story-led tone the subject matter required. The video was deployed across DPIE’s stakeholder communications to support broader engagement with the program. Punchy delivered scripting, storyboarding, illustration, animation, voiceover direction and motion graphics for the final piece.
