Long Distance Care Giving - MCWH
Animated Explainer Video
The Multicultural Women’s Health Centre (MCWH) is a national, community-based organisation which is run by and for migrant and refugee women. MCWH engaged Punchy Studio to create an animated video to address the unique communication challenges faced by migrant women who provide care and support for loved ones living overseas. The brief was to define long distance caregiving and acknowledge the significant emotional and financial toll it can take on the caregiver. We produced a compassionate animated explainer video that uses soft visuals and diverse character designs to illustrate the various forms of support provided, from financial assistance to emotional check-ins via video calls. Our approach focused on validating the feelings of guilt, anxiety, and overwhelm that often accompany these responsibilities, while offering practical self-care strategies. The video is deployed on the MCWH website and across social media platforms to reach migrant communities and encourage women to prioritise their own mental health. By combining professional scripting, custom animation, and a gentle voiceover, we effectively delivered a message of support and empowerment to a vital part of the Australian community. Warm motion graphics reinforce the call to action, encouraging viewers to connect with community groups or seek professional mental health support when needed.
