University of Queensland - Indigenous Success Podcast

Animated Explainer Video

The University of Queensland (UQ) is a research intensive institution and a leader in providing educational pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. UQ approached Punchy Studio to create a promotional video for the podcast series “Indigenous Success: Doing it, Thinking it, Being it”, hosted by Dr Katelyn Barney and Professor Tracey Bunda. The brief was to address the communication challenge of moving beyond data on barriers to discuss what actually works in university outreach programs and why. We produced a vibrant animated promotional video that uses a sophisticated, culturally aligned design palette to represent the diverse voices featured in the series, including Indigenous staff and students. Our approach focused on highlighting key discussion topics such as the role of student ambassadors, embedding cultural aspects in outreach, and the shift to online engagement during the pandemic. The video is deployed across university social media channels and academic platforms to drive listenership on Podbean and encourage a deeper evaluation of outreach initiatives. Through professional scripting, custom animation, and a clear voiceover, we effectively framed the podcast as a vital resource for equity in higher education. The inclusion of modern motion graphics reinforces the podcast title and provides a direct call to action for listeners to engage with this important dialogue.
