QUT - HiQ Student How-to Series
Animated Explainer Video
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is a major public research university located in Brisbane. The university engaged Punchy Studio to create an educational video for the HiQ Student How-to Series to address the communication challenge of explaining the various class types and learning activities available to students. The brief was to define the different pedagogical approaches students might encounter, ranging from traditional lectures to hands-on clinical practicals. We produced a clear and informative animated explainer video that uses clean icons and a structured narrative to distinguish between activities like tutorials, workshops, and creative studios. Our approach focused on academic literacy, explaining how each class type such as simulations, field trips, or work integrated learning contributes to a student’s professional and practical understanding. The video is deployed on the HiQ student portal and university website to help new and current students navigate their unit requirements and prepare for different learning environments. By combining professional scripting, custom animation, and an instructional voiceover, we effectively simplified complex university terminology into an accessible student guide. Precise motion graphics reinforce the call to action, providing a direct link for students to find more detailed information about their specific class types.
