Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan - Nillumbik Shire Council

Nillumbik Shire Council, in Melbourne’s north east, came to Punchy to communicate its Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan to residents. Strategic plans of this kind are dense, long term documents covering libraries, recreation facilities, halls and community centres, and councils typically need a more accessible format to drive community awareness and consultation engagement than the document itself. Punchy produced an animated explainer that distilled the strategic plan into a clear narrative about how the council intended to plan, invest in and renew community infrastructure over the plan’s horizon. The motion graphics style was designed to feel approachable and civic, with iconography representing the different facility types and community uses covered by the plan. The video was used on Nillumbik’s website and social channels to support the plan’s public release and community engagement activities. Production covered scripting, design, animation, voiceover and motion graphics.
