What Is Super? - Vision Super

Vision Super is a profit-to-member superannuation fund based in Melbourne, serving over 100,000 members. The fund engaged Punchy Studio to create an educational video to address the common communication challenge of superannuation being perceived as confusing or complex. The brief was to simplify the concept of super as an asset for retirement and explain the fundamental differences between accumulation plans and defined benefit funds. We produced a friendly animated explainer video that uses relatable characters and clear iconography to illustrate how employer and personal contributions grow over time. Our approach focused on transparency, explaining how investment earnings, taxes, and fees all play a role in the final retirement nest egg. The video is deployed on the Vision Super website and within member onboarding portals to provide foundational financial literacy to their community. By combining professional scripting, custom animation, and an accessible voiceover, we effectively turned a technical financial topic into an easy to understand guide. Detailed motion graphics reinforce the call to action, encouraging members to visit the Vision Super website to learn more about growing their retirement savings.
