DOGSAFE Meter Reading - Service Stream
Training Video
Service Stream is an Australian utility services contractor whose meter readers enter thousands of properties every week, many of which contain dogs. Following a fatal dog attack on a meter reader at another company in Queensland, Service Stream developed the DOGSAFE protocol to give field crews a clear step-by-step approach for assessing and managing dog-related risk. The video needed to teach the protocol to a culturally and linguistically diverse field workforce, some of whom do not speak English as a first language. Punchy produced a 5 minute animated training video that balances a serious safety message with witty character-driven humour, taking visual inspiration from the bright, lively aesthetic the client referenced (Bluey). The animation walks viewers through realistic scenarios meter readers encounter on the job, illustrating each step of the DOGSAFE acronym in action. The video underpins Service Stream’s DOGSAFE training rollout, with viewers completing a learning assessment afterwards. Success is measured by reductions in dog-related field incidents. Punchy delivered scripting (built from client-supplied scenarios), character design, animation, voiceover, motion graphics and SRT subtitles.
