Taking Action - VEOHRC

Animated Explainer Video

Taking Action is the introductory piece in the Sex Worker Discrimination series Punchy produced for the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (VEOHRC) and Vixen Collective. Where the other four videos in the series tell individual stories, this animation frames the broader landscape: the kinds of discrimination sex workers face, what the law protects, and what options exist for taking action when discrimination occurs. Punchy developed an animated explainer that adopts the same illustration system used across the series, with character animation, motion graphics and a measured voiceover. The piece is structured to guide viewers through a clear sequence: recognise discrimination, understand rights under Victorian law, then act. The video is used by VEOHRC alongside the personal stories in the series, providing the legal and procedural context for the lived experiences shared elsewhere. Punchy delivered scripting, illustration, character design, animation, voiceover direction and motion graphics.
