Better Bin Bundle: Downsize Landfill Bin - Redland City Council
Animated Explainer Video
Redland City Council, on Quandamooka country south-east of Brisbane, came to Punchy to help communicate the Better Bin Bundle program to residents. This piece focused specifically on encouraging households to downsize their landfill bin, a behaviour change that reduces waste to landfill and lowers household waste service costs. The brief was to give residents a clear, friendly explanation of how downsizing works, what they can expect, and how to sort waste effectively under the new arrangement. Punchy produced an animated explainer using a bright, accessible illustration style designed to feel welcoming rather than instructional. The video walked through the practical steps of opting in, what changes at the kerbside, and how to use the FOGO, recycling and landfill bins to make downsizing work day to day. A friendly voiceover and clean motion graphics guided the viewer. Services included scripting, storyboarding, illustration, animation, voiceover and audio mix. The video was deployed across Council’s waste education channels, including the website, social media and resident communications.
