Challenge

Midlife is a pivotal stage in a woman’s life, often marked by transitions like menopause and shifts in physical health that determine long-term wellbeing.

However, women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds or with lower literacy levels often face challenges accessing clear, practical health advice.

Traditional resources like dense pamphlets, jargon-heavy guides, or inaccessible seminars often fall short.

Partnering with Jean Hailes, Monash University, CREWaND, and The University of Melbourne, we needed to create content that was engaging, easy to understand, and actionable, delivering critical health messages with clarity and impact to women across different literacy and education levels.

Solution

We developed four short, animated videos: two focused on menopause health covering hormonal changes, self-care strategies, and symptom management tips, and two promoting joint health with practical advice for maintaining mobility and staying active.

Each video used simple language, vibrant visuals, and clear instructions to ensure accessibility.

To gauge impact, the team conducted an anonymous online survey of 490 women who watched the videos.

The results confirmed success across all audiences, with no notable differences between women in disadvantaged areas and more affluent regions.
